Quanta Records is proud to introduce Particules, a series dedicated to the electronic transformations of pop music, with the release of Alma Alta’s first EP.
Alma Alta (formerly known as AA & YOU) presents a double-faceted EP echoing the duality of both band members, Adrian and Aloïs.
The first side is reminiscent of 80’s synth wave as it introduces an efficient brand of pop that intertwines bright synth layers and sequenced drum machines. The second side expresses darker fears and deeper insecurities as both the raw vocal tone and the angry guitars drag listeners further and further away from their comfort zone. Alma Alta’s extreme back and forth allows for a constant mix of opposites that balances itself.
The group’s duality is part of a radical and ambitious enterprise that celebrates its own contradictions through multiple juxtapositions: misty and penetrating, pop and rock, mechanical and human.
